Party People! By now, y'all have GOT to be ready for the weekend. After a whirlwind 5 show run last week, the Higher Hands are freshly rested and deeply invested in makin this weekend another funky good time. So without further ado... this is the Lowdown:

First off, we'd like thank everyone who made it out to any of last week's gigs. and welcome all of you who are gettin the Lowdown for the 1st time. Last week's run started with another hot one at Stan & Joes in Naptown, and Saturday night we made our way back to Savage for some funk in the basement at the Rams Head Tavern's Rathskellar. (thanks to Clark @ www.clarksmithphotographs.com for snappin some shots and lettin us kick it at his studio) Sunday was our debut at Wine in the Woods in Columbia MD, and both the weather and turnout were incredible. Both stages were essentially a who's who of the finest local musicians, and we are amped to have shared the bill w/ folks like Tom Lagana, Blue Funk, Eric Scott, and Mike Noonan (UJE). We appreciate all the love we got from the crowd and we send BIG THANKS to those of y'all that signed up for the Lowdown and/or picked up a copy of our debut album Grab Hold. Later that night, we had the opportunity to play a Fundraiser for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society at the Whiskey in Annapolis, and we got to share the stage w/ Three Legged Fox and Jonathan Waxman (w/ a nice collabo on Bob's Stir It Up). good music for a good cause. dagomitah!

Before we hype this weekend, I wanted to hip y'all to a couple shows we got comin up where yer support is crucial:
Next Thursday June 27th we make our debut at Washingon DC's Club Soda. the HH crew has been hustlin to get our name out in DC, and this is a fresh spot that's dedicated to live music. Saturday June 19th, we'll be back at the illustrious Rams Head Live! in Baltimore for a special night of local music. Sweet Leda & Hot Box will be there, and you can trust we'll be bringin the heat! It's our 1st time back since we opened for Soulive.
